The REACT Consortium comprises three partners – CeSHHAR and HERD International at our study sites in Nepal and Zimbabwe and LSTM in UK. Together we have expertise in many aspects of health research.
At our study sites, we also work with key local and national stakeholders who are deeply embedded in networks and communities of practice in their countries, regions and on the global stage. Health workers (facility-based and community health workers), managers (health facility, district or municipality managers) and community members are also important partners for us.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK
LSTM was the first institution in the world dedicated to tropical medicine research and teaching. The school aims to reduce the burden of sickness and mortality in disease-endemic countries by delivering effective, locally relevant interventions.
The LSTM has extensive experience looking at the health workforce, health systems strengthening, climate crisis and health, epidemiology, implementation research, participatory action research, qualitative research, research management, research uptake and communications and capacity strengthening.

The REACT team at LSTM is led by Professor Joanna Raven.
PHD Students
Our PhD students, like our MSc students, are based in their home countries but registered with LSTM. They are supervised by experienced researchers both from within REACT and LSTM, who oversee and guide the students’ progression with a clear focus on their career development.
